![]() the best way to do this is to use plasma shrimp with ICBM, which quadruples the amount of hits you do, and since you're always in shield, you always get plasma shrimp. The optimal damage build for void friend, as far as i can tell, is maximizing how many critical hits you do in order to sustain your big beam. i like 4 to 5 hooves, 1 energy drink, 2 wax quails, and as many double jumps as you want. once you transcend, your healing power becomes somewhat useless, and since you have to avoid damage for 7 seconds to regen, you should also focus on movement speed. additionally, topaz brooch and teddy bears can give you extra bulk. shields give you """hp regen"", as best as you'll get for void friend without gimping your power level. if you don't wanna do that, just get a ton of shield generators. early on, your source of healing is munching on charge, and if you're in super form, running away and reverting form if you get too low on hp.įor shields, i recommend transcendence from the lunar pool. i still think healing past max hp shouldn't decrease meter, but i have found how you're "supposed" to build him on command, where you can build around his limitations.īasically, focus on crit, as crit lets you sustain your form longer (each crit adds 1 percent), and focus on shields. i've played him a bit more and i have some thoughts. Hey, this was my initial reaction as well. This was the character I was looking forward to the most for this DLC. Either take healing items and never spend more than 5 seconds in corrupted form, or don't take healing items and never reach more than five stages. The fact that void fiends only form of survivability in corrupted form SIGNIFICANTLY shortens his time in said form just makes it feel like it's not worth going into in the first place. If you're too aggressive you're dead, but if you're not aggressive then you lose your corruption early and you're stuck with no damage. I feel like you have to get WAY too close to enemies when you're corrupted for it to be at all reliable. Like OP said, I found myself avoiding healing so I can even get to corrupted mode, then upon further playing I felt that it wasn't even worth it, so I started taking healing items and just actively tried to avoid corruption, even during boss fights. I'd rather that the corruption was only affected by his ability, not the act of healing or taking damage itself. I find it very difficult to get a run off the ground. Yeah, I haven't had a good experience with him either. It feels like the heal/corruption abilities ought to be swapped, spending health in normal form to accelerate corruption, trading survivability, and spending corruption in corrupted form to heal at the expense of staying corrupted. You either come back out of corruption from your healing items, or you don't have any so you get stuck in it and die. You can sustain this further by taking damage or using your 4th ability but any kind of healing will take you out of it, so you're spending health with no way to get it back and no way to actively switch out. When you want to go corrupted, let it build. So, okay, keep using your heal to stay out of corrupted form until you need it, trading damage for survivability. ![]() Corrupted Form feels really useless because of the range limitation and cooldowns, and the fact that you cannot heal or you go back to your standard form. The whole kit seems to actively deter the use of healing, in a game where stacking healing is how your survive. ![]() The idea of a survivor with a resource that you have to balance is great but it feels poorly thought out.
